Germantown
Now that their two daughters are college-aged, an artist couple has decided to leave their townhouse in New York’s bustling West Village in exchange for the relaxed and picturesque Hudson Valley.
On a property with views of the Hudson River and Catskill Mountains beyond, the couple challenged us to design a ground-up home that maximizes interior wall space for their extensive art collection which includes large scale paintings while also allowing for expanses of glass to enjoy the surrounding views.
Other aspects of the project include incorporating two separate artist studios, climate controlled storage for paintings, a library, and a dining area fit for entertaining large groups.
