Al-Madany

Al Madany Islamic Center of Norwalk, a congregation that dates back to the 1970’s in Norwalk, CT, has found a new home in a 10,196 square foot former Episcopal Church built in 1963. To accommodate a growing community of over 100 families, we were asked to make necessary renovations to transform the church into a mosque and community center.

With renovations planned in multiple phases, we were asked to begin the project with the redesign and renovation of two existing bathrooms and the conversion of an existing kitchenette into a wudu room, an area designated for ritual washing before prayer. Other immediate goals that were accomplished were laying new carpet in the main prayer hall and installing custom-designed shoe storage racks with benches outside of the prayer hall.
